Binder Log

To Access the Binder Log Tab

  1. On the Utility menu, click HOME.
  2. On the Home menu, click BINDER LOG. The binder log tab is displayed.

Policies that are restricted are displayed only if the person logged on is assigned to them. All other non-restricted policies are displayed and can be searched for by all staff members (in accordance with their security). There are several options when working with the binder log. Notice the options at the top of the binder log tab and the active icons within the tab. 

The following options are available when working with the binder log: 

The binder log view may be managed using the coverage term effective and expiration dates (which are the binder effective and expiration dates) with the ability to extend the binder dates when the carrier does by changing the coverage term dates with the active calendar icon in the policy header. (See Extending a Binder) Once the policy is received, follow the normal workflow to place the policy in force - which would indicate that the carrier binder is closed and thus removing the policy from the Home > Binder Log

Tip: To set a particular view as the default view, click [Show] to open the search and sort filters screen and select the Save Filter Settings check box.

The coverage effective date is the date that the policy coverage takes affect. There may be cases where the term effective date is different than the coverage effective date:

Important: Clicking Clear does not remove the Save Filter Settings selection.  

The following columns are displayed in the binder log search results:

Click Cancel to be returned to the binder log tab.

The binder coverage expiration date is displayed in one of four colors and changes based on the current date in relation to the binder’s coverage expiration date.
