Named Insureds Summary
The named insureds tab displays
all named insureds added for this client. You can associate an unlimited number of named
insureds with each client, but only one can be designated as the primary
named insured. The
primary named insured indicator will be selected in the Primary column. The primary designation can be changed, but a primary named insured cannot be deleted. The named insured may also be flagged as inactive or reactivated from the Named Insured screen.
Note: The Named Insured Summary screen differs depending on the account type, Personal or Commercial.

- On the Primary menu, click SEARCH. Search for the appropriate client. Be sure to change the Entity selection to Client.
- Click the Details
icon next to the appropriate client. The card file tab is displayed by default.
- Click the named insureds tab. The Named Insured Summary screen is displayed.
The following options and information is displayed on the Named Insured Summary screen:
- Filters: Click [Show] / [Hide] to toggle the filter screen open and closed.
- [Activate] / [Inactivate]: Selecting [Inactivate] will inactivate the entire client record. A strike through will be displayed on the client's name on all client screens. Selecting [Activate] will remove the line through the client name and activate the client again.
- [Add New]: Opens the Named Insured screen to enter a new named insured.
- Column headers can be clicked to sort the summary by the selected column header in ascending or descending order. The following columns can be sorted:
- Primary
- Named Insured
- Status
- Details: Click on the Details
icon to open the Named Insured screen and edit the named insured.
- Primary: Indicates whether the named insured is the primary named insured. Unlimited named insureds may be associated to a client, however only one may be designated as the primary named insured. The primary designation may be changed, but a named insured currently designated as primary may not be deleted.
- Named Insured: The name of the named insured.
- Status: Indicates whether the named insured is Active or Inactive.
- Linked Unit: The Umbrella
icon is displayed once a unit has been linked to a policy using Lookup or a client level addition through the units at risk tab.
- Remove: Click the Remove
icon to remove the named insured from the client records. The primary named insured cannot be removed until another primary is selected. If a unit is linked, it cannot be removed, however, it can be made inactive.
To Navigate to a Commercial Client Named Insureds Tab
- On the Primary menu, click SEARCH. Search for the appropriate client. Be sure to change the Entity selection to Client.
- Click the Details
icon next to the appropriate client. The card file tab is displayed by default.
- Click the named insureds tab. The Named Insured Summary screen is displayed.
The following options and information are displayed on the Named Insured Summary screen:
- The ability to [Import] and[Export] lists of named insureds to an Excel® (.xls or .xlsx file) is available. When working with imports and exports:
- An export must be performed first to get a working spreadsheet for importing.
- Use the check boxes to select the named insureds to be exported.
Important: System generated IDs on the exported spreadsheet should not be changed, added or copied. The absence of an ID upon import will denote an item to be added.
- Place a capital X in the Remove
column in order to remove the item upon import. The primary named insured cannot be removed upon import.
Tip: In order to avoid updates occurring to records that have not changed, it is suggested that those records be removed before the import takes place.
Note: When exporting a file, the file extension must be changed to .xls or .xlsx
before saving.
The following columns are included in the exported file:
- Client ID
- Client Name ID
- Client Name
- DBA Name
- URL
- Year Started
- Business Ownership ID and Type (IDs are system generated and should not be altered.)
- 2 - Individual
- 3 - Partnership
- 4 - Corporation
Note: Additional Ownership ID and Types are possible depending on those set up by the agency in Lookup Management.
- Gross Receipts
- Gross Receipt Basis ID (IDs are system generated and should not be altered.)
- Gross Receipt Basis
- No Employees
- FEIN / SS#
- Long Name
- Interest / Misc
- Nature Of Business / Desc
- Filters: Click [Show] / [Hide] to toggle the filter screen open and closed.
- [Activate] / [Inactivate]: Selecting [Inactivate] will inactivate the entire client record. A strike through will be displayed on the client's name on all client screens. Selecting [Activate] will remove the line through the client name and activate the client again.
- [Add New]: Opens the Named Insured screen and allows entry of the new named insured. For more information about adding a new commercial named insured see Adding Named Insureds.

- Primary: Indicates whether or not the named insured is the primary named insured. - Named Insured: The name of the entity as it was entered when adding the new named insured.
- DBA:Indicates whether or not the named insured is "Doing Business As".
- URL: Displays the URL link to access the client's website.
- FEIN/SS#:Displays the FEIN or Social Security number as entered in the named
insured details.
- Status: Indicates whether the named insured is Active or Inactive.
- Remove: Click the Remove
icon to remove the named insured from the client records. The primary named insured cannot be removed until another primary is selected. If a unit is linked, it cannot be removed, however, it can be made inactive.
